Merry Christmas!

No more posts from me until the New Year as having a blogging break for Christmas! The weekend will be spent preparing for the big day (and next week will be spent recovering from it!).

Have a lovely Christmas everyone and see you in 2007. x

I wish I could think of something else...

But there's only one thing on my mind right now. Every time I see a police car go past or I hear a helicopter I think "Have they found another one?" I hate being so scared in my little sleepy part of the world. I'm not going to write about the details, you can read all about it if you want to at the BBC or web site of the local paper, the Evening Star.

It's so weird and scary to see my town and the countryside I know so well splashed across every national paper & TV news programme.

What is going on?

I don't know what to say, I've just read on the BBC website that a 3rd woman's body has been found near Ipswich. This comes after two girls (Gemma Adams & Tania Nicol) were found murdered in two separate places (although only 2 miles apart) on the other side of town this week. No further details are available yet and this 3rd awful discovery may not be related to the murders of Gemma & Tania who both worked as prostitutes in the town.

It's scary to see your town and familiar places on the national news every day. I feel so sad for the families of the girls, no matter what they did to earn money they were someone's daughters, granddaughters & friends.

UK Round Robin Journal

Here's the next journal, it has the theme of music/lyrics/poetry so I included lyrics from my favourite song on the ATCs and then some quotes about music...

You can see a larger version if you click on it...

Next up is Rhi's journal, I'm really excited about this one and the entries so far are completely gorgeous.

So we got the tree...

We decided to get our Christmas tree and we decorated it yesterday- we (well I really, boyfriend didn't really care!) went for a red, white & silver theme. Here it is...

Has anyone else decorated yet?

1st December

I feel like I can start getting excited about Christmas now! I may even persuade my other half to buy our tree this weekend although it does feel a little too early still. A lot of my friends are putting their trees up this weekend and in blog land there is lots of Christmas decorating activity.

I so intended to make an advent calendar but I'll have to remember to do one for next year instead.

I have so many project ideas in my head I really need to get a move on- only 24 days to go :) I love this and this and this.

Let me know when you put your decorations up and I'd love to see photos too.

Some ATCs

Here are some more ATCs I've been making lately. I really love making these little works of art and I hope you enjoy looking at them.

New item in shop... and the tale of the missing dress

I decided to list the felt stockings I showed in my last post in my Etsy shop- they're such fun to make I'm happy to make more.

I'm in a bad mood this afternoon! We went Christmas shopping and I decided to treat myself to a dress I'd fallen in love with. So I had a few bags as we carried on walking round town- and then I suddenly noticed the bag with my new dress was missing. A search ensued, with one shop even checking their CCTV footage for us but we couldn't find it anywhere. So I'm £40 down today with no dress to show for it. :(

But hey there are more important things going on in the world and I'm sure I'll get over it. I've decided to list a load of old clothes and books etc on ebay to try and raise a some money to buy a replacement so I'm sure I'll get to wear that dress again before long! And I've learnt a lesson about keeping a better eye on my bags. :)

Some pictures...

Some little bits from pottery...

Pottery Christmas bits

A few of the trees have names on as they'll be little presents- the rest will all go on our tree I think. The other little bits might be pendants, not sure yet.

Christmas stockings

These are little stockings made from felt for the tree or maybe stocking fillers (hee stockings in stockings!)

Geisha ATCs

And finally here's a set of Geisha ATCs I made for a personal swap.

I'm actually organising a Geisha ATC swap over on Craftster so I'll be making some more Geisha cards soon.

Wednesday 22 November 2006

Normal service will be resumed soon...

I have some little bits and pieces from my pottery class to show, some Christmas decorations and some ATCs but I won't be taking any photos until I've got a few things out of the way- namely an assignment which is done but needs handing in and a nasty head cold.

Little bit of good news, I got an "excellent pass" for my last assignment which is the same as a 1st so I was pretty happy with that!

Gotta go- need to lie down for a bit!

Finished objects... SWAP PARTNERS DO NOT READ!

Sorry for the shouting in the title! I just don't want any swap partners to see something they don't want to- of course I could hold off on showing pictures but I'm too impatient and I want to share what I've been up to lately and the reason I haven't been posting very regularly.

These embroidered bags took a long time to make and whilst I was happy with the embroidery, I wasn't so pleased with them when I made them into bags, my sewing was a little wonky in more than one place. Oh well, here they are....

They're all lined and are reversible.

I also sent a pearl dangles ring, some poppy cards and a folding scrapbook (they all had extras thrown in as they took a lot less time than the bags!).

And it was UK Round robin journal day so I sent the next one off, here's the pages I did:

I love crafting and swapping but I don't think I'll be taking on any more large swaps before Christmas now. Well except for ATCs and journals!

Not much to say!

I'm not feeling very talkative so here are a few bullets...
  • Etsy v2 has launched.
  • I have a huge amount of embroidery left to do.
  • Next spread for the UK Round Robin journal is complete.
  • My boyfriend is away but back on Friday.
  • I'm cold.
  • I've got a cold.
  • I went to pottery last night- did lots of glazing but started nothing new.
  • I made this ATC for a swap on Craftster...
  • And finally, look who's coming to stay for the weekend...

Remembrance Sunday

Just wanted to post my picture of a poppy again on Remembrance Sunday. Especially after hearing the news of four British servicemen being killed in Basra today.

Poppy Watercolour

New banner and new name

I've decided to rename my shop in line with my blog so here's a new banner I designed today. I'm not 100% sure on whether it needs more colour but I like it so far...

Oooops I broke my blog!

So I seem to have broken pinkangel1979.blogspot.com. Don't ask me what I did as I literally have no idea. So here's a new one with a new name that better sums up what the blog is about really- things I've made, things I'm making and I things I sell made of paper and cloth. It will still be in the same style as my old blog but with a new address (and a new look if I get chance).

All my photos that were on my old blog are still on flickr.

Now to get on with letting people now my new address- I hope everyone finds me!
