{from the archives} poor Toby

As I've been writing this little blog of mine for so long I thought it would be fun to go back in the archives and find some old projects, thoughts and plans.

This week the time machine is taking us to...

I know I'm a mean mummy but this is one of my favourite photos of Toby. There's something about his poor little dozy not-quite-awake-from-anaesthetic face that makes my heart melt.

You can read the original post here.

{from the archives} make a bird mobile

As I've been writing this little blog of mine for so long I thought it would be fun to go back in the archives and find some old projects, thoughts and plans.
Today I'm turning the time machine to...

I made this little bird mobile back in August 2008. And you can too - go take a look to get the full tutorial.

Blog of the week...

It's time again for another misleadingly named "blog of the week" post - I think the last one was about a month ago!

I've only recently discovered this popular blog - A cup of Jo - but I really enjoy reading about the joys of being a newish mum (or mom I guess it should be) and drooling over Joanna's style picks such as these fabulous bookends and gorgeous clothes. I'm particularly enjoying the photos and memories from her mum when she was pregnant with Jo and her twin sister in Paris.

It's highly possible I'm the last woman in the world to know about this fabulous blog but if you haven't seen it before either make sure you pay Joanna a visit.

Blog of the week...

Well clearly this isn't a weekly occurrence as it's only the second blog I've chosen so far. But I just came across it whilst googling for ideas for my very-soon-to-be-updated 101 in 1001 list.

Brooke's blog is fun, colourful and full of ideas and inspiration - go take a look now! Have you come across any great new (to you) blogs lately?

Blog of the week...

Well  I can't promise this will actually be weekly ( I have enough of a weekly challenge on the go as it is) but here's this week's blog of the week (a blog I've literally just stumbled across...)

yes and yes - because yes in more fun than no

I've been reading it all evening - so inspiring. Sarah Von is about to embark on a 7-month trip (not her first adventure) and I can't wait to read all about it. Some of my favourite posts (so far) are: 101 Ways To Cheer Yourself Up: Part 1 (and part 2) and 31 Things I've Learned in 31 Years but I'm pretty sure I'm going to find more. Go, read, and enjoy!

I have a new project: 52 crafts in 52 weeks

I may be slightly mad but I've started a new project: 52 crafts in 52 weeks.

The first craft will be published later this week so bookmark it now to find out what I try first.

A bit of a jumbly update

Lots of little bits of updates today...

hopefully I'll manage to do at least something creative every day in November.
  • and um... sure there's something else but I'm too tired to remember!
How are you all doing? Leave a comment and I might just send one of you a little something if you're very lucky :)

I've actually updated my other blog...

Go see the crafty bride for my French themed wedding inspiration board (which includes a photo of my actual wedding dress, note to self: make a different board to show Ben!). I'm really in to the idea of adding French influences to our wedding as of course we got engaged in France.

Aaaaaaannnnd I wrote a quick post on UK Handmade about the fab flower project.

Here are the flowers I've had so far:

Exciting times ahead...

Not long until my 200th blog post so in honour of that and another little something I'm working on, I'll be having a bit of a giveaway.

Prizes to be revealed soon but in the meantime start posting comments on this thread answering this question...

What's your favourite colour combination?

Winners will be announced on my 200th blog post and will be chosen randomly using a random number generator.

Catching up..

This is going to be a bit of a random, catching up kinda post with no particular message!

  1. You can now see Paper and Cloth on Trunkt, I got accepted at the weekend and I was very excited!

  2. I put up a new mood board on the Crafty Bride yesterday based on our venue (which we'll be getting married at in one year, five months, two weeks and four days time).

  3. I started paying a bit of attention to my long neglected mintd shop. Only one item in there at the moment but there will be more soon hopefully. I need to do some work on the banner and avatar at some point (that goes for my blogs and etsy shop too!)

  4. I have the cutest dog in the world.
  5. I'm now a member of the Etsy Weddings Street Team.

  6. I restarted that sketchbook class that I enrolled on ages ago. Changed direction a bit and I am now looking at items found in the home rather than architecture. The theme then led naturally to buttons and haberdashery!

No blog post is complete without a photo, so here's that Toby photo again!

Blog love

I was lucky enough to be featured on not one but two blogs yesterday.

The first one was cuteable, run by the lovely Lynsey of Swirlyarts.

And the second mention was by Emilia of Auburn & Ivory. She featured me as one of her "Greenies".
This reminded me of my pledge to make a recycled project every month. I didn't manage to do one in February but there will definitely be one this month, I might even try to fit two in.

I'm also really excited as etsy are running a huge series on weddings so there's going to be lots of amazing inspiration over there. I plan to link to their Storque articles from The Crafty Bride later today.

Crafty wedding projects

Well it didn't take me long to mention the wedding again did it? I'm really excited about all the wedding crafts I'm going to be able to do so I thought instead of posting them here, I'd make a new blog: The Crafty Bride
Take a look and let me know what you think? Thank you :)
