Which is about time because I haven't felt like that for a long time. I did a really simple project last weekend...
Just tea towels cut in half, hemmed and a pretty ribbon added. Took less than an hour and made me feel a bit crafty again :D

So behind...
...with blogging. I haven’t abandoned you I promise. I just don’t seem to have time to write.
2009 is going to be an exciting year in so many ways and I’m determined to avoid the gloom that seems to have descended on the media of late. This quote is an interesting one to bear in mind that I received on an email earlier…
“When you rise above it all, the bad stuff can't stick to you." (Maya Angelou)
This inspired me to google Maya Angelou to find out more about her. She sounds like an amazing lady!
Talking of an exciting 2009, I have bought the dresses my gorgeous bridesmaids will be wearing on my wedding day which means I can work on the colour scheme. This is the dress:
So purple will be featuring of course with maybe some brown, green and cream to co-ordinate/contrast.
I’d finally like to share with you a little something I do every Christmas called the Christmas Giving Tree. At work we have a Christmas tree that I decorate with lots of gift tags which have gift ideas on them such as toiletry set or food parcel. People take one or more tags, buy the gifts, wrap them and then bring them in to work where we collect them. They then get distributed by our local WRVS to recipients of the Meals on Wheels scheme. It means that nearly 400 people this year got a little gift for Christmas; it might have been the only present they received. I’m so proud of this scheme and the part I play in it. It’s been running at my work for 9 years now (2 of which I’ve been organising it). If anyone would like to know more about it so they can set one up next Christmas at their church, school or work place, please leave me a comment and I’ll tell you more about it.
