I'm back...

but this will still be a heavy on photos post rather than text as my arm isn't quite right and I've an essay to finish that I really can't fill with pretty photos instead of words!

Since I was last here:

* we got to the colour choosing stage in our bedroom, so I put together this little mood board to give us ideas...

* we paid the deposit for our wedding so it's all confirmed :)
* we had Toby's family to stay, don't they look innocent:
Yeah well they had us up at 5.30am with their barking! I'm sure Toby encourages them to get in trouble.
* I was so bored when I was off work for a week, I took all my cooking magazines and cut out recipes I liked and put them in a binder. That's bored for you but pretty useful I guess!
* I bought these trousers, this wallet, these brooches, these smellies.

and that will do for now as I've really got to get on with my assignment. I only have a few weeks left of my 4th year of my part time degree which is pretty scary as I have loads of work to do in that time. But it also means I only have a year to go which is exciting- I can't wait to have my evenings back! When I started the degree, I was really in to IT. Now, not so much. But I still want to finish it as it's a personal goal of mine to get a degree. And once it's done, I can decide what I want to do next!

Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Mood Board Monday- is going to be delayed!

If you read my other blog, you'll know I'm a little out of action at the moment with an injured shoulder. It's getting better so hopefully I'll be back soon. In the meantime I'm preparing a good old fashioned paper and glue mood board for you as I can't use the laptop for long periods at a time.

If anyone asks...

you didn't see me, ok?

I've done something to my shoulder/neck and am supposed to be resting which means no Internet :(

Just wanted to let you know I'll be back soon but I need to rest for a bit.

This post was brought to you by my left hand!

Catching up..

This is going to be a bit of a random, catching up kinda post with no particular message!

  1. You can now see Paper and Cloth on Trunkt, I got accepted at the weekend and I was very excited!

  2. I put up a new mood board on the Crafty Bride yesterday based on our venue (which we'll be getting married at in one year, five months, two weeks and four days time).

  3. I started paying a bit of attention to my long neglected mintd shop. Only one item in there at the moment but there will be more soon hopefully. I need to do some work on the banner and avatar at some point (that goes for my blogs and etsy shop too!)

  4. I have the cutest dog in the world.
  5. I'm now a member of the Etsy Weddings Street Team.

  6. I restarted that sketchbook class that I enrolled on ages ago. Changed direction a bit and I am now looking at items found in the home rather than architecture. The theme then led naturally to buttons and haberdashery!

No blog post is complete without a photo, so here's that Toby photo again!

Mood Board Monday & Choosing a Colour Scheme

This is what I've been looking forward to the most (apart from designing the invitations), choosing a colour scheme/theme. I wanted to wait until we had a venue (although I already knew it was likely to be Butley) before working on the colours as I think the venue can certainly help set the feel of the wedding and I want to complement and enhance it, not contrast with it.

Butley Priory is a 14th Century Monastery and is set in the countryside, not far from the Suffolk coastline. Inside the Great Hall (the room our reception is in) it is light and airy and the muted colours are beautiful.

I know I don't want a bright colour scheme and although our wedding is in Autumn, I don't want to go the traditional red and orange route. I like Sage however which works well at that time of year as well as antique rose pink and golds and creams (perfectly in keeping with the surroundings). So this is the mood board I've come up with so far. This is by no means "the one" but I think the final scheme will definitely be a derivative of it.

Centre: Butley Priory 1. Earrings by Hollygems on etsy 2. Butley Priory 3. Wooden hearts by andreafays on etsy 4. Guest book by ifnbooks on etsy 5. Sage invitations by staccato on etsy 6. Soy candles by CaelynnCreations on etsy 7. Card by sarahparrott825 on etsy 8. Cake by Cake That 9. Flowers from Weddings by Color 10. Dress by Debenhams 11. Hairpins by beadifulthings on etsy 12. Necklace by coleydesigns on etsy

I'd love to know what you think so leave me a comment and let me know if you've seen anything else that matches this scheme.

We have a date & a venue

The countdown begins (it's quite a long countdown!) to the 3rd October 2009- the day we're getting married here:

Butley Priory, Woodbridge, Suffolk

I'm very excited. Having a date and a venue gives us something to work towards and we (well, I) can start thinking about themes and all the other fun stuff that comes from that. So Mood Board Monday will be all about me this week, come back then to see a mood board based on our wonderful venue.
